Scrolling LED Gif Generator

The Scrolling LED Gif Generator is a small tool (about 3 MB) to create animated gifs. During the installation the setup will check if you have the .NET framework installed. If the .NET framework isn't installed, the setup will ask you if you wish to install the .NET framework now.

If you want to skip everything and go direction to the download page, it is one click away.

4.2.1 now available

This is a small patch, there was a bug in the About box that if you tried to open it, it would crash the program. I've gotten messages taht there is a problem when using the program in Windows XP (SP3) and Windows 2000 SP4. Sadly, I have no idea how to fix this issue. Something goes wrong deep within the .NET 4 framework (technically: when trying to save a palette to a memory stream), for which there is no work around. This issue does not occur on systems with .NET 4.5 framework installed.

You can still find the examples and below are 2 screenshots, using the different themes that are now available.

So what does this little program do besides slice, dice and being the best thing since sliced bread:

Create an Animated Gif that looks like a scrolling LED display. It has several features to customize the display including scroll directions and styles. Two color sets for the LEDs and 3 fonts are installed.
Features:

  •  Allows generation of animated GIFs directly.
  •  4 different ways to scroll the text. With ‘advanced’ options to customize the effect
  •  Modification build-in to use the generated LED animation in a userbar (350 x 19 pixel animated image).
  •  Add image to the LED animation.
  •  Optional after effect to enhance (or screw up ;) the effect), with additional options to further customize the effect.
  •  Variable width
  •  Height set automatically through font selection.
  •  Create new fonts of varying height.
  •  Create new graphic layouts through new color sets that specify border and LEDOn/LEDOff indication, and 4 more colors that can be used by advanced ‘after effects’.
  •  Resize the resulting Gif automatically if activated.
  •  Rotate the animation without loosing quality.
  •  Use the commandline to create animated gifs without user intervention.
